Recap: Glenbard West Hilltoppers vs. Downers Grove North Trojans
It was a good run, but the Glenbard West Hilltoppers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 41-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Downers Grove North. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Glenbard West has scored all season.
Downers Grove North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Campbell Thulin, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Lilly Boor was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Glenbard West's loss dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Downers Grove North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Glenbard West will head out on the road to face off against Lyons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Lyons is ranked 49th, while Glenbard West is ranked 31st). As for Downers Grove North, they will be playing at home against Hinsdale Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
