Baseball Recap: St. Paul Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

St. Paul came out on top against Bay Path RVT on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Knights put the hurt on the Minutemen with a sharp 7-1 win.

Ben Cooney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kam Stout, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That run marked the first that he has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Cam Swank, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

St. Paul's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Bay Path RVT, they moved to 12-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Paul will welcome Worcester Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bay Path RVT, they will take on Advanced Math & Science Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
