Baseball Recap: Stevenson Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Stevenson won the last time they faced Rancho San Juan and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Trailblazers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Phinn Thomas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Stevenson is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise. Thomas was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Reggie Bell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Jacob Hall, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.

Stevenson pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Rancho San Juan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.

Stevenson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-3 win against Greenfield on the 12th. As for Rancho San Juan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-1 defeat against Everett Alvarez on the 12th.
