Football Game Preview: Liberty Blue Jays vs. Park Hill Trojans

The Liberty Blue Jays will head out on the road to take on the Park Hill Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Park Hill will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Liberty extended their winning streak to five on Friday. The Blue Jays took their game with ease, bagging a 63-21 win over Central. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.

Liberty's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jace Hicks, who rushed for 136 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Hicks' longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Nolin, who rushed for 134 yards and three scores on only ten carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Liberty was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 443 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Deacon Price, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, while Park Hill put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Park Hill South. The Trojans claimed a resounding 35-0 win over the Panthers. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Park Hill, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Liberty strolled past Park Hill in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 30-13. Do the Blue Jays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
