Football Recap: Hueneme Takes a Loss

Hueneme was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 27-8 bruising from the Dos Pueblos Chargers. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 20-10 to the Chargers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Dos Pueblos to victory were Callan Lee and Drew Schultz. Lee rushed for 175 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, while Schultz rushed for 94 yards and one TD. Those 175 rushing yards gave Lee a new career-high.

Hueneme's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Dos Pueblos, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Hueneme and Dos Pueblos could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Vikings will take on Fillmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (822 vs. 284). Meanwhile, Dos Pueblos (ranked 569th) will meet Agoura (ranked 184th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
