League recap: Wade breaks off league-leading run for Triton

3A Conference 13 recap September 24, 2013

Triton's Zach Wade rumbled for the longest rushing play in 3A Conference 13 this season in his game against Grays Creek last week. Wade ran for 74 yards on the play and finished with 113 on the day as his team beat the Bears.

Triton extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Grays Creek, 27-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for Ashley Ennis' team.

Corinth Holders's dynamic duo of Cole Sakowski and Hampton Smith proved to be unstoppable against C.B. Aycock, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sakowski threw for 233 yards and 4 touchdowns and Smith had 74 yards receiving. Tony Kirkwood helped Corinth Holders' passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 71 yards.

Corinth Holders' dynamic duo of Sakowski and Smith proved tough for the Golden Falcons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Sakowski put up the best numbers in passing as Barry Honeycutt's team topped C.B. Aycock.

Wade was the best running back in the league this week. Juwan Thompson also contributed to the rushing game with 47 yards on the ground.

Smith was the best wideout in 3A Conference 13 this week as Corinth Holders defeated Steve Brooks' team.

Tim McNeill was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Hawks beat David Lovette's team. He grabbed 1.5 sacks.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Harris Devin. The South Johnston star has 23 catches for 413 yards.

Corinth Holders and the Golden Falcons played the closest game in the league this week, with Corinth Holders eventually emerging with a 26-21 victory. Sakowski during the win.
