Softball Recap: Nokomis Comes Up Short

If Nokomis was feeling good fresh off their 17-5 takedown of Oceanside on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors came up short against the Cony Rams on Wednesday, falling 17-8. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Nokomis' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Cony, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nokomis will face off against Gardiner at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cony, they will square off against Winslow at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Black Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.86 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
