Volleyball Recap: Saugus' Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After a string of four wins, Saugus's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against the Canyon Cowboys, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Centurions have suffered since March 11th.

While Saugus ultimately came up short, they really made Canyon work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-23, 27-25, 25-20.

Saugus' defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saugus will take on rival Valencia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Canyon is set to face off against their familiar foe West Ranch at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon is on an eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), West Ranch a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
