Football Recap: Rochelle Takes a Loss

After flying high against LaSalle-Peru last Friday, Rochelle came back down to earth. The Hubs lost 37-14 to Morris on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Hubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Morris are ranked 14th).

Caeden Curran produced another solid performance rushing for 131 yards and two touchdowns for Morris. Curran is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 108 every time he's taken the field this season. Brady Varner was another key player, throwing for 159 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes.

Rochelle has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Morris, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rochelle is set to take on their familiar foe Kaneland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Morris will face off against rival Ottawa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
