JOHN JONES made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. JONES was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on CASH THOMAS, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was CREED SHORTT, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Walters was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frederick only posted a batting average of .222.
Walters pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Frederick, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Walters is taking a road trip to square off against Cashion at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Frederick, they will challenge Chattanooga at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
