Basketball Game Preview: Seton Catholic Cardinals vs. Daleville Broncos

Two dominant guards in Jason Moynihan and Hunter Suchyna are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Seton Catholic Cardinals will take on the Daleville Broncos at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Seton Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Daleville likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Seton Catholic didn't have too much trouble with Union City as they won 63-44.

Seton Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Moynihan out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Moynihan's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Feist, who went 6 of 12 to rack up 15 points along with five boards and five blocks.

Meanwhile, Daleville came up short against Randolph Southern on Thursday and fell 61-49.

Seton Catholic pushed their record up to 9-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. As for Daleville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Seton Catholic couldn't quite finish off Daleville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 65-62. Thankfully for Seton Catholic, Koleman Newsome (who almost dropped a double-double on 38 points and nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
