Football Recap: Marietta Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Marietta extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 16-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the McEachern Indians. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Indians are ranked seventh).

Jayden Whiteside threw for 74 yards and one touchdown. Samaj Anderson was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards.

As for McEachern, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.0 points on average this season.

Henry Pullen was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 129 yards and a pair of TDs. Pullen is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marietta will take on Hillgrove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. After each having a week off, McEachern and Campbell will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. This will be the Indians' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
