League recap: Sheehan paces Southern Connecticut - Housatonic with five wins over past week

Southern Connecticut - Housatonic league recap: 6/5/13

Sheehan outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its five total wins led the league. The Titans beat East Lyme 4-2, Weston 3-1, Lewis Mills 3-2 and the Spartans 3-2.

Amity Regional (20-4, 7-1) is red-hot, having won four straight games, the longest such streak in Southern Connecticut - Housatonic. Three of those wins came in the past week,.

Cheshire's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only ten hits and three walks, both of which led the league.

The highest batting average in the league this week belonged to the Rams' Dan Schock, who churned out three hits in three at bats for a 1.000 average. His average for the season stands at .403, which ranks fourth in the league. Schock has accumulated 31 base knocks this year so far.
