Basketball Game Preview: Memphis East Mustangs vs. Southwind Jaguars

The Memphis East Mustangs will take on the Southwind Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Memphis East is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 57-46 win over Houston. The victory was all the more spectacular given Memphis East's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Houston is ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, Southwind beat White Station 57-48 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

Southwind's win came from a few key players Memphis East will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Austen Price, who shot 78% from the field en route to 15 points and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ronald Towns, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points.

Memphis East's win bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Southwind, their victory bumped their record up to 20-9.
