Recap: Ontario Christian Knights vs. Huntington Beach Oilers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Ontario Christian Knights, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of Huntington Beach by a score of 36-33. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Ontario Christian's lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hayden Slegers, who threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Zander Lewis also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
It was another big night for Tyler Young, who rushed for 169 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Hunter Gray, who picked up 128 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Ontario Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Huntington Beach, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.
Ontario Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Huntington Beach will head out on the road to face off against Simi Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Simi Valley is ranked 129th, while Huntington Beach is ranked 139th).
