The Oldham County Colonels will head out to challenge the Central Hardin Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Oldham County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Oldham County barely beat Mercer County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Colonels blew past the Titans 11-4 on Thursday. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jozie Lashley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.
In other pitching news, Kailyn Claybern looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Batts, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Leah Oberholtzer, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.
Oldham County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Central Hardin's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Male by a score of 2-1.
Oldham County's record is now 19-3. As for Central Hardin, their loss dropped their record down to 18-12.
Oldham County skirted past Central Hardin 3-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colonels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
