Football Game Preview: Lyman Raiders vs. Platte/Geddes Black Panthers

The Lyman Raiders will face off against the Platte/Geddes Black Panthers on Thursday. Lyman has given up an average of 29.9 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lyman is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Wall, who was ranked second at the time (Lyman was ranked 22nd). The Raiders took a blow against the Eagles on Friday, falling 55-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Platte/Geddes didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Corsica/Stickney on Friday, but they still walked away with a 28-22 win.

Platte/Geddes' victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Lyman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Lyman was dealt a bruising 64-28 loss at the hands of Platte/Geddes when the teams last played back in September. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
