Basketball Recap: Christian Academy of Louisiana Starts Season with Loss at Home

Christian Academy of Louisiana unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 67-35 defeat at the hands of the Brighton Bengals on Tuesday. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-11.

Brighton was led to victory by Brody Giles and Davis Wolfe. Giles shot 58% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to five assists and three steals, while Wolfe posted 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The game was Wolfe's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Reid Williams, who had eight points and 14 boards.

Brighton pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Christian Academy of Louisiana is headed away from home for the first time to take on Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Academy of Louisiana's defense better be ready for this one: Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool has averaged an impressive 63.2 points per game this season. As for Brighton, they are taking a road trip to square off against Word of God Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bengals will need to watch out since the Force have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
