Softball Game Preview: Gloucester County Tech vs. West Deptford Eagles

Gloucester County Tech will face off against the West Deptford Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gloucester County Tech's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Burlington Township with a sharp 7-0 win.

Meanwhile, West Deptford beat Sterling 8-4 on Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly four runs.

Jordyn Ambrosius made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Francesca Delquadro, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Kaylee Morales was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI.

Gloucester County Tech is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Deptford, their win bumped their record up to 16-10-1.
