Football Recap: Healdsburg Greyhounds vs. Sonoma Valley Dragons

Healdsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by the Sonoma Valley Dragons 35-7. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 801st, while the Dragons are ranked 290th).

Healdsburg didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Areum Romero and Hayden Mariani.

It was another big night for Cayden Waldrop, who rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries for Sonoma Valley. Waldrop's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards.

Healdsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Sonoma Valley, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Healdsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sonoma Valley, they will face off against Hayward at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sonoma Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Hayward likes a good challenge.
