Wayne proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 25) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fairmont Firebirds, sneaking past 21-18. The 21-point effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Wayne was led to victory by Isaiah Thompson and Kye Graham. Thompson rushed for 91 yards and one TD, while Graham threw for 127 yards and one touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Wayne now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Fairmont, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Wayne will host Northmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Thunderbolts' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Fairmont, they will square off against Miamisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
