Football Recap: Clover Park Takes a Loss

Clover Park extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were beaten by the Orting Cardinals 57-0. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Cardinals are ranked 50th).

As for Orting, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 45.0 points this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orting to victory, but perhaps none more so than Evan Poly, who picked up 48 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another back making a difference was Dakota Anderson, who rushed for 28 yards and a pair of scores.

Coming up, Clover Park will challenge Franklin Pierce at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Timberwolves will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. As for Orting, they will face off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.17 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
