Softball Recap: Maple Hill Comes Up Short

Maple Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Coxsackie-Athens Riverhawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 12-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Maple Hill saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Camadine, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Halle Feldman was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Maple Hill's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Coxsackie-Athens, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Maple Hill will square off against rival Catskill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Coxsackie-Athens is set to face off against their familiar foe Taconic Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
