Basketball Recap: Kaufman Piles Up the Points Against Wills Point

Kaufman won the last time they faced Wills Point and things went their way on Friday too. The Kaufman Lions took their matchup with ease, bagging a 56-28 win over the Wills Point Tigers. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kaufman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylee Wrenn, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 23 points along with six steals and five assists. The contest was Wrenn's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubre Prox, who went 7 for 14 en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

The victory was the third in a row for Kaufman, bringing their record for this year to 16-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Wills Point, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Kaufman and Wills Point should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Kaufman (ranked 147th) will meet Lindale (ranked 384th) at 3:40 p.m. on Saturday. Kaufman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Wills Point (ranked 337th) will meet Palestine (ranked 706th) at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
