The Willcox Cowboys had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Benson 57-38 on Thursday. The victory was just what Willcox needed coming off of a 64-37 defeat in their prior game.

Willcox's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maddie Bennett, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Bennett is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Mungarro, who scored 19 points along with four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Benson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaylei Taylor. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Adalie Lewis, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Willcox's victory bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Benson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.

Willcox will be playing in front of their home fans against Empire at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
