Recap: Cheney RVT Beavers vs. Norwich RVT Warriors
In what's become a running theme this season, the Cheney RVT Beavers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Norwich RVT at home to the tune of 84-48. Given Cheney RVT's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Norwich RVT is ranked 168th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dam'nic Gittens continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 41 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 25 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Brookins, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Cheney RVT and bumps their season record up to 14-3. As for Norwich RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Cheney RVT will head out on the road to face off against Grasso Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cheney RVT has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 553 points over their last seven matchups. As for Norwich RVT, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Plainfield is coming into the match with four straight defeats on the road, meaning Norwich RVT will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
