Soccer Game Preview: Shorecrest Prep vs. Tampa Catholic

The Shorecrest Prep Chargers will square off against the Tampa Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shorecrest Prep will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Tuesday, Shorecrest Prep sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Saint Stephen's Episcopal. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Falcons are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alistair Ford was the driving force of Shorecrest Prep's attack as he scored both of Shorecrest Prep's goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Meanwhile, Tampa Catholic has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 12. Neither they nor Keswick Christian could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Tampa Catholic has been dealt a draw since back in December of 2024.

Shorecrest Prep's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0-1. Tampa Catholic's draw makes their record 3-10-2 this season.
