Central Valley strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Stanton Mustangs 36-6. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 40-28 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Central Valley found their leader in sophomore Lincoln Nekoliczak, who threw for 97 yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in one rushing score.

Central Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stanton only rushed for 101 rushing yards.

Central Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Stanton, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Central Valley and Stanton will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cougars are set to challenge their familiar foe Anselmo-Merna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Stanton will take on rival Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
