Softball Recap: Amherst Central Tigers vs. Williamsville South Billies
Amherst Central extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They lost 12-4 to the Williamsville South Billies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Billies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-4 back in April.
As for Williamsville South, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Considering they have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Williamsville South's part, the team relied heavily on Bri Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those two hits gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Sackel, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Coming up, Amherst Central will take on West Seneca West at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Williamsville South, they will square off against Hamburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
