Basketball Recap: Hephzibah Takes a Loss

Hephzibah was the 71-62 winner over Westside when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Hephzibah Rebels took a hard 60-42 fall against the Westside Patriots on Saturday. The match marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Hephzibah lost, don't look at ISAIAH RICHARDSON. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was JUSTUS MAYS, who had eight points.

Westside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jarious Adkinson led the charge by going 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aldrion Jones, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Hephzibah has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Westside, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Hephzibah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-45 defeat against Baldwin on the 6th. Westside has also already played their next matchup, a 74-25 victory against Howard on the 7th.
