Rancho Bernardo had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Del Norte Nighthawks, posting a 49-15 win. The matchup marked the Broncos' most dominant victory of the season.

Rancho Bernardo found their leader in sophomore Gaige Weddle, who threw for 236 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Weddle. Brady Strachan was in the mix as well, providing Rancho Bernardo with two scores.

One reason for the win was Rancho Bernardo's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Brandon Kendro was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Rancho Bernardo got some further help from Gavin Valencia: he picked up a sack, made seven total tackles, and defended one pass.

The win made it two in a row for Rancho Bernardo and bumps their season record up to 9-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points over those games. As for Del Norte, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Rancho Bernardo will take on Granite Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. Del Norte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
