Basketball Recap: Midview Comes Up Short

Midview lost against Olmsted Falls back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Midview Middies were beaten by the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs 73-46. While losing is never fun, the Middies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 686th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 262nd).

Midview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Xavier Young, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points and five boards. Brady Newton was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Midview dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Olmsted Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Midview will venture away from home to challenge Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Steele's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games. As for Olmsted Falls, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Buckeye at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Olmsted Falls is facing Buckeye at the right time seeing as Buckeye is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
