Football Recap: Jackson Starts Season with Win on the Road

Jackson had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Hardaway Hawks to the tune of 38-0. The Red Devils pushed the score to 28-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hawks had little chance of recovering from.

Danarri Brown went supernova, rushing for 162 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries, while also picking up 54 receiving yards and one touchdown. His longest reception was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Another player making a difference was Canaan Bernhardt, who threw for 194 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will venture away from home to square off against Mary Persons at 7:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Hardaway, they will head out to take on Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
