Softball Game Preview: Meyersdale Red Raiders vs. Everett Warriors

The Meyersdale Red Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Everett Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meyersdale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Meyersdale and North Star had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Red Raiders never let the Cougars get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Isabella Sleasman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Karleigh Beal was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meyersdale hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Everett was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They lost 9-0 to Berlin Brothersvalley. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meyersdale's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Everett, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Everything went Meyersdale's way against Everett when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Meyersdale made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
