Baseball Game Preview: Crystal City Hornets vs. Potosi Trojans

The Crystal City Hornets will take on the Potosi Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Crystal City after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 6-2 to Meadow Heights. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Crystal City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Eisenbeis, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Eisenbeis' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Potosi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to Farmington. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Trojans have suffered since March 17th.

Landon Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Potosi is 3-1 when Johnson posts three or more RBI, but 3-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Blair, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Crystal City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Potosi, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
