Basketball Game Preview: Tigard Tigers vs. West Linn Lions

Tigard hasn't had much luck against West Linn recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Tigard Tigers duke it out with the West Linn Lions at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Tigard is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost to Tualatin at home by a 74-58 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Timberwolves are ranked second).

Meanwhile, West Linn was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Lake Oswego 81-50. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

West Linn's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Tigard, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Tigard suffered a grim 67-42 defeat to West Linn in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Tigard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
