Baseball Recap: Wayne County Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

While Wayne County put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Collinwood. The Wildcats blew past the Trojans 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Logan Davis was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Wayne County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brady Stooksberry, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Wayne County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Wayne County has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Collinwood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

As of now, neither Wayne County nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
