Flag Football Game Preview: Huntley Red Raiders vs. Jacobs Golden Eagles

The Huntley Red Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Jacobs Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Huntley's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.

Huntley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Lake Park 45-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Red Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Lancers are ranked 153rd).

Huntley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lyla Ginczycki led the charge by throwing for 374 yards and five touchdowns while completing 85.7% of her passes, and also catching one score. That's the most passing yards Ginczycki has posted over her last 14 games. Another receiver making a difference was Aubrina Adamik, who picked up 189 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Huntley's defense and their five sacks. Charlotte Lubarski was especially locked on to Lake Park's QB and sacked her twice. Lubarski is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Meanwhile, Jacobs and Bolingbrook were almost perfectly matched up on Saturday, but Jacobs suffered a 14-13 loss. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Huntley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.0 points over those games. As for Jacobs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
