Basketball Game Preview: Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies vs. Milbank Bulldogs

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies and the Milbank Bulldogs will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Milbank took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Elk Point-Jefferson, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Elk Point-Jefferson strolled past Tri-Valley with points to spare, taking the game 55-36. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Meanwhile, Milbank was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 51-38 to Deuel. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Cardinals are ranked 28th).

Elk Point-Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Milbank, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Elk Point-Jefferson couldn't quite finish off Milbank in their previous matchup back in January of 2018 and fell 54-51. Can Elk Point-Jefferson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
