Basketball Recap: Kendyll Dinh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chaparral over Arizona College Prep

Chaparral suffered their biggest loss since November 29, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Arizona College Prep Knights, falling 51-30. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-41 back in January.

Several Firebirds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kendyll Dinh, who posted ten points and five rebounds. Dinh has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaelie Weishaar, who put up four points and eight boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Chaparral and nudges their season record down to 9-11. As for Arizona College Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Chaparral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-49 defeat against Notre Dame Prep on the 11th. As for Arizona College Prep, they have also already played their next contest, a 46-42 victory against Campo Verde on the 11th.
