Recap: Valley Vikings vs. Beth Haven Bearcats

The Valley Vikings lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were beaten by Beth Haven 87-59. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valley in their matchups with Beth Haven: they've now lost five in a row.

Beth Haven's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was DaMontez Malone, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Michael Ray Stinnett was another key contributor, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 3 assists.

Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Beth Haven, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-7.

Valley will head out on the road to take on Thomas Nelson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Thomas Nelson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Valley likes a good challenge. As for Beth Haven, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fort Knox at 4:30 p.m. on February 10th. Fort Knox has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
