Softball Recap: Philo Electrics vs. Tri-Valley Scotties
Philo extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-6. They fell 5-2 to the Tri-Valley Scotties. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scotties this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 on Monday.
Lexie Charles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Dilyn Brown made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
As for Tri-Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alivia Reffitt, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Gerran Matthews also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Philo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 win against Crooksville on the 9th. As for Tri-Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-6 defeat against West Muskingum on the 8th.
