Mt. Vernon has gone 9-1 against Yorktown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Marauders will be playing at home against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Mt. Vernon comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Mt. Vernon is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Shelbyville on Friday. The Marauders were outmatched by the Golden Bears and fell 49-21.

Mt. Vernon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mason Meyer and Brenten Johnson.

Meanwhile, Yorktown didn't have quite enough to beat Pendleton Heights on Friday and fell 24-22. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Arabians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Mt. Vernon will need to focus on slowing down Sam Tokar, one of several Yorktown players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 37 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 148 yards and one TD. Kaden Crumes was Tokar's top target, picking up 55 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 31 yards.

Yorktown's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Mt. Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Mt. Vernon and Yorktown were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but Mt. Vernon came up empty-handed after a 28-27 defeat.
