Preview: Conneaut Spartans vs. Lakeside Dragons
Conneaut is on a three-game streak of home losses, Lakeside a 20-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Conneaut Spartans will take on the Lakeside Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Conneaut came up short against St. John and fell 60-48.
Conneaut's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kayla Farley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds, and Alexis Kiser who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Alexis Warner was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Lakeside took a serious blow against Geneva on Saturday, falling 67-25. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lakeside in their matchups with Geneva: they've now lost six in a row.
Conneaut's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Lakeside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.
Everything came up roses for Conneaut against Lakeside in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 69-27 win. Does Conneaut have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lakeside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
