Softball Preview: Edgewood Cougars vs. Talawanda Brave

Edgewood is 0-5 against Talawanda since April of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Brave at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Edgewood got their first taste of in-conference action on Monday and they started things off strong. They blew past Monroe 11-3.

Jaycie Broshear was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Edgewood let Evie Short and Evelyn Henson run wild.
