Basketball Recap: James Love's Big Game Can't Quite Lead York over Camden

York was the 57-56 winner over Camden when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The York Cougars took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Camden Bulldogs on Friday. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

York's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Love, who posted eight points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Love a new career-high in rebounds. Jaedon Meadors was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Even though they lost, York smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

It was another big night for Jahmarie Mcleod, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 23 points for Camden. Mcleod's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Laval Green also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Camden, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.

York wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-50 victory against Richland Northeast on the 11th. As for Camden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 83-55 loss against Lancaster on the 11th.
