Basketball Recap: Kasson-Mantorville Falls Short of Stewartville in the Playoffs

Kasson-Mantorville and Stewartville squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Kasson-Mantorville had to settle for second. They fell 60-53 to the Stewartville Tigers. The Komets' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Audrey Shindelar was her usual excellent self, going 9-for-21 on her way to 27 points and six boards for Stewartville. Shindelar's big performance that evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Addison Ruffridge, who posted six points in addition to six blocks and five rebounds.

Kasson-Mantorville's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Stewartville, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8.

Kasson-Mantorville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stewartville, they will square off against Red Wing at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stewartville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Red Wing likes a good challenge.
