Volleyball Recap: Kingwood Park Falls Despite Big Games from Kaely Evans and Ava Etheridge

Kingwood Park lost against Hargrave back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-15 in the first set.

Kingwood Park started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Kingwood Park had strong showings from Ava Etheridge, who had 20 digs and three aces, and Kaely Evans, who had eight digs and five kills. Evans is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last three games she's played. Olivia Parker also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Kingwood Park's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5. As for Hargrave, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Kingwood Park will be taking part in a tournament against Lufkin at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Hargrave has already played their next match (against Caney Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
