Preview: Pottsville Crimson Tide vs. Pine Grove Cardinals
Pottsville is 8-2 against Pine Grove since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pottsville Crimson Tide will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pine Grove Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pottsville waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They slipped by North Schuylkill 49-48. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 66% better than the opposition, as Pottsville's was.
Among those leading the charge was Kole Becker, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Christian Alvarez, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Pine Grove's 13-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They took down Jim Thorpe 61-45. Pine Grove's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Pottsville's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. As for Pine Grove, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-12.
