Basketball Recap: North Park Falls Despite Big Games from Brooklynn Weber and Abby Altwine

North Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 46-39 to the Weldon Valley Warriors. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 35-27 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Abby Altwine and Brooklynn Weber certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Altwine went 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points along with eight boards and five steals, while Weber posted ten points and three steals. Altwine has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Solano, who put up five points and six steals.

Annie Onufrak continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Weldon Valley, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Ellie Koch was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

North Park's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Weldon Valley, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 2-5.

North Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-23 defeat against Gilpin County on the 11th. As for Weldon Valley, they will venture away from home to face off against Campion Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
